AI Scan My Site Report: False Positives Explained

27 October 2026 · By John Carlsson
AI Scan My Site scored aiwebpageseo.com 100 out of 100 with no issues, but its report lists an ItemPage schema the page does not have, describes the llms.txt specification wrongly, generates an llms.txt with 7 H1 headings where the specification allows one, and shows word-for-word identical citations from four different AI engines.

On 27 October 2026 I ran aiwebpageseo.com through AI Scan My Site, a tool that audits how well a site can be crawled and cited by AI search engines. It gave the home page 100 out of 100, "Status: Good", with 0 issues and 15 checks passed.

A perfect score is pleasant to read, but I am only interested in what an audit gets wrong. A report can pass every check and still tell you things that are not true. This post sets out each claim that does not match the site, what the site actually shows, and the proof. The full report and my live checks are saved here: AI Scan My Site evidence, 27 October 2026.

Error 1: a schema type that is not on the page

AI Scan My Site says: "Detected Knowledge Graph Schemas: WebSite, Organization, SoftwareApplication, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, ItemPage".

The facts: there is no ItemPage schema on the home page. A live check of its JSON-LD on 27 October 2026 found WebSite, WebPage, Organization, Person, SoftwareApplication, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, ItemList and others, but no ItemPage. The report lists a schema type that does not exist on the page, and leaves out several that do.

Error 2: the llms.txt rules described wrongly

AI Scan My Site says: "Checks that your site serves an /llms.txt file with a # Title and # Summary block, per the llmstxt.org spec."

The facts: the llmstxt.org specification asks for a single H1 with the name of the site, followed by a blockquote summary. It has no "# Title" or "# Summary" headings. My own llms.txt follows the specification: one H1, "# aiwebpageseo", then a "> " summary line.

Error 3: a generated llms.txt that breaks the specification

The report offers a ready-made llms.txt to "copy and deploy". The file it generated for aiwebpageseo.com has 7 H1 lines:

The specification allows one. The file also adds a "System prompt for AI assistants" section, which is not part of the specification, and describes "team details" and a "help desk" that the site does not have. Replacing my spec-compliant file with this one would make it worse, not better.

Error 4: identical "citations" from four different AI engines

AI Scan My Site says it tested Perplexity, Bing Copilot, ChatGPT Web Search and Google Gemini, and quotes what each one said about the site.

The facts: every engine "quotes" exactly the same sentences, word for word, such as "Official platform aiwebpageseo.com provides verified services and features." and "Pricing and plans for aiwebpageseo.com are detailed on their official portal." Four separate AI engines do not give identical answers. These read as template text, not real results.

Error 5: documentation that does not exist

AI Scan My Site says one of the cited answers was: "Technical documentation for aiwebpageseo.com setup and API integration."

The facts: aiwebpageseo.com does not publish API documentation or setup guides for an API. The claim does not match the site.

Error 6: numbers that do not add up

Error 7: the wrong kind of site

AI Scan My Site says: "See how your store appears in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini & Bing Copilot answers."

The facts: aiwebpageseo.com is an audit platform, not a store. It does not sell products.

What a perfect score missed

On the same day, another AI SEO audit, Free AI SEO Audit, found three fair points on this same page: no quoted or attributed sources, a brand name written in more than one way, and no link to original research. AI Scan My Site passed the page on everything. A score of 100 out of 100 does not mean there is nothing left to improve.

Summary

AI Scan My Site did not fail anything, but its report contains 7 errors: a schema type that is not on the page, a wrong description of the llms.txt specification, a generated llms.txt that breaks that specification, identical "citations" from four engines, documentation that does not exist, numbers that do not add up, and a site described as a store. Before you copy any generated file or quote any score, check it against your own site.

Frequently asked questions

What is AI Scan My Site?

AI Scan My Site is an online tool at aiscanmysite.com that audits how well a website can be crawled and cited by AI search engines. It checks robots.txt rules for AI crawlers, llms.txt, schema markup, image alt text and Core Web Vitals, tests citations in AI engines, and offers generated llms.txt and schema files to copy onto your site.

What did AI Scan My Site get wrong about aiwebpageseo.com?

It listed an ItemPage schema that is not on the page, described the llms.txt specification as needing Title and Summary headings, generated an llms.txt with 7 H1 headings and a system prompt section, showed identical citation quotes from four AI engines, claimed API documentation the site does not have, and called the site a store.

What does the llms.txt specification require?

The llmstxt.org specification asks for a single H1 heading with the name of the site or project, followed by a blockquote with a short summary, and then optional sections of links in Markdown. It does not use Title, Summary or System Prompt headings, and a file with several H1 headings does not follow it. Check any generated llms.txt against the specification before you publish it.

Does a 100 out of 100 AI SEO score mean my page is perfect?

No. A score only reflects the checks a tool runs and how well it runs them. On the same day another AI SEO audit found three fair points on the same page that this tool passed: no attributed sources, an inconsistent brand name and no link to original research. Read what each report claims and check it against your own site before you rely on it.
