ScamAdviser False Positives: Near-Identical Sites, 31 to 100

27 October 2026 · By John Carlsson
ScamAdviser scores my near-identical single-page sites from 31 to 100. Every site it scanned fresh came out safe; the two marked "Likely Unsafe" carry outdated reports from Gridinsoft, Bfore.ai and IPQS that those companies' own current checks do not support, plus a link-shortening claim that is false.

On 27 October 2026 I checked what ScamAdviser says about my sites. All of them are single-page sites built from my main site, aiwebpageseo.com, on the same server, and they describe and link to free SEO, AEO and schema audit tools. ScamAdviser scores them anywhere from 31 to 100 out of 100, and tells the public that two of them "may be a scam".

This post sets out what ScamAdviser says, the facts, and the links that prove them. Anyone can check every link for themselves.

The scores

These are near-identical pages (up to 97.6% the same once the domain names are ignored). ScamAdviser rates them like this:

Every site that ScamAdviser scanned fresh came out safe. The two marked "Likely Unsafe" are the two whose pages carry outdated reports from other companies. The same pages cannot be "Very Likely Safe" on one domain and "may be a scam" on another.

aiwebpageseo.website: 31, "Likely Unsafe"

ScamAdviser says: "This website has been reported as malicious by Bfore.ai". ScamAdviser: aiwebpageseo.website

The facts: Bfore.ai's verdict is "PreCrime", a prediction, not a detection. It is the only vendor out of 92 on VirusTotal flagging this site, and 55 vendors report it clean, including Google Safe Browsing, Kaspersky, ESET, Sophos, BitDefender and Fortinet. VirusTotal: aiwebpageseo.website and Bfore.ai False Positives: Clean Sites Predicted as Malicious

ScamAdviser says: "This website has been reported for Phishing by IPQS" and "reported as Suspicious by IPQS".

The facts: IPQS's own URL scanner, checked on 27 October 2026, shows phishing false, suspicious false, malware false, spamming false and a risk score of 0. ScamAdviser is showing reports that IPQS no longer makes.

ScamAdviser's own data partner, Gridinsoft, rates the same site 71 out of 100 and says it "appears to be generally safe".

The update button that does not update

ScamAdviser's page for aiwebpageseo.website says "Last Update: 5 months ago" and "This website hasn't been scanned in more than 30 days ago. Press the button to get a real time update." I pressed "Update score" ten times on 27 October 2026. The page still says "Last Update: 5 months ago" and the score has not changed.

The same button on aiwebpageseo.shop rescanned the site straight away, and its score went to 100 out of 100. On aiwebpageseo.website, the one site where the outdated reports do the most damage, the button does nothing.

aiwebpageseo.co.uk: 34, "Likely Unsafe"

ScamAdviser says: "This website has been reported by Gridinsoft as possible malware". ScamAdviser: aiwebpageseo.co.uk

The facts: Gridinsoft's own report for this domain, rechecked on 27 October 2026, says: "it is not a consensus of external providers. None of the 25 publicly displayed security sources report a warning." The only negative signals Gridinsoft lists are "limited independent reputation data" and "a relatively new domain (8 months)". There is no malware finding behind it. Gridinsoft False Positives: Clean Sites Listed as Malicious

The page is not checked again until the 30 days have passed, so the warning cannot be cleared by a rescan.

"This website uses link-shortening"

ScamAdviser says this on aiwebpageseo.co.uk, aipageseo.com and aiwebpageseo.com, and adds that link shortening "may direct to malware or a phishing site".

The facts: I searched every page and file on my server for links to bit.ly, tinyurl.com, t.co, goo.gl, ow.ly, buff.ly, is.gd, rebrand.ly, cutt.ly, shorturl.at, lnkd.in, rb.gy, tiny.cc, s.id, t.ly, bl.ink, short.io, forms.gle, amzn.to and youtu.be. There are none. aipageseo.com sends visitors to my own main site, aiwebpageseo.com, with a single permanent 301 redirect between domains I own. That is not link shortening and hides nothing.

ScamAdviser's fresh scans of aiwebpageseo.shop, aiwebpageseo.info and aiwebpageseo.store on the same day do not make this claim.

"High number of suspicious websites on this server"

ScamAdviser lowers the score of every one of my sites because of "suspicious" sites on the same server. The server is mine, and the other sites on it are my own. ScamAdviser's low scores for aiwebpageseo.co.uk and aiwebpageseo.website, which rest on the outdated reports above, are counted against my other sites, and theirs against these. The signal is circular, and it is built on ScamAdviser's own inaccurate data.

Where ScamAdviser's warnings come from

ScamAdviser does not test these sites for malware itself. The warnings on its pages are reports from other companies. Gridinsoft's partner page says "ScamAdviser leverages our real-time data feeds to warn users of online fraud." Gridinsoft partners

So a single company's listing, or a single prediction, ends up on ScamAdviser as "The website may be a scam", next to a score that the public use to decide whether to trust a business.

What is on these sites

I checked every file on my sites on my server on 27 October 2026.

Google Safe Browsing reports no unsafe content on any of them.

What I have asked ScamAdviser to do

I have sent ScamAdviser a Notice and Take Down request under its own published procedure, and a data protection request under the EU GDPR and the UK GDPR. ScamAdviser is operated from the Netherlands, so the EU GDPR applies to it directly. I trade as a sole trader under my own name, so its ratings of my domains are my personal data, and Article 5(1)(d) requires them to be accurate and kept up to date. I have asked ScamAdviser to:

  1. Remove the "Likely Unsafe" verdict from aiwebpageseo.co.uk and aiwebpageseo.website, and rescan both sites.
  2. Remove the false "link-shortening" statement from every page.
  3. Remove the warnings based on outdated reports from Gridinsoft, Bfore.ai and IPQS.
  4. Correct the "suspicious websites on this server" signal, which counts my own sites against each other.
  5. Respond to my requests under Articles 15, 16, 19, 21 and 22, including the source and date of every signal and every recipient of these ratings.

Timeline

All times are taken from the email time stamp. I will update this post with ScamAdviser's reply.

If ScamAdviser has given your site a low score

Read the "Negative highlights" on your ScamAdviser page and check each one. If a warning says your site was "reported" by another company, check that company's own current verdict, and look your site up on VirusTotal. If your page has not been scanned for more than 30 days, try the "Update score" button. To challenge content, use ScamAdviser's Notice and Take Down procedure: it asks for your company details, the page addresses, a clear explanation with evidence, proof that you own the site and what you want to achieve.

Frequently asked questions

Why does ScamAdviser give my website a low trust score?

ScamAdviser builds its score from automated signals such as domain age, traffic, hidden WHOIS details, other sites on the same server and reports from other security companies. A single report from another company, even an outdated one, can push a site down to "Likely Unsafe". In this case near-identical single-page sites scored anywhere from 31 to 100, and the two lowest were the ones carrying outdated reports from Gridinsoft, Bfore.ai and IPQS.

Why does the ScamAdviser Update score button not change my score?

The button only appears when a page has not been scanned for more than 30 days. On aiwebpageseo.shop it rescanned the site straight away and the score went to 100. On aiwebpageseo.website it was pressed ten times on the same day and the page still said "Last Update: 5 months ago". If the button does not work for your site, record each attempt and include it in a Notice and Take Down request.

What does "This website uses link-shortening" mean on ScamAdviser?

It means ScamAdviser believes the site uses short links, such as bit.ly, that can hide where a link really goes. On these sites the claim is false: a search of every file found no links to any link-shortening service. A permanent redirect from one domain to another domain with the same owner is not link shortening, and if ScamAdviser shows this claim on your site, check your pages and challenge it if it is wrong.

How do I challenge a ScamAdviser rating?

Use ScamAdviser's Notice and Take Down procedure, by its contact form or by email to report@scamadviser.com. Give your company name, website, name, phone number and email, the address of each ScamAdviser page, a clear explanation of why the content is wrong with evidence, proof that you own the site and what you want done. ScamAdviser is operated from the Netherlands, so the GDPR applies, and a sole trader can also use their data protection rights.
