Gridinsoft False Positives: Clean Sites Listed as Malicious

27 October 2026 · By John Carlsson
Gridinsoft labels aiwebpageseo.shop a Malware Distributor at 1 out of 100 and lists three more of my sites as suspicious. The sites have no downloads, forms or hidden code, 55 vendors on VirusTotal report the shop site clean, and Gridinsoft rates near-identical copies of the same page as generally safe.

On 27 October 2026 I found that Gridinsoft's Website Reputation Checker labels my site aiwebpageseo.shop a "Malware Distributor" with a trust score of 1 out of 100, and lists three more of my sites, aiwebpageseo.co.uk, aipageseo.com and aipageseo.co.uk, as "Suspicious Website". All of them are single-page sites built from my main site, aiwebpageseo.com, and they describe and link to free SEO, AEO and schema audit tools.

Gridinsoft's listings do not stay on Gridinsoft. Its reports say its detections contribute to VirusTotal, and its partners page says "ScamAdviser leverages our real-time data feeds to warn users of online fraud." A Gridinsoft listing is repeated to the public by other services as proof that a business is a malware and fraud operation.

This post sets out every statement Gridinsoft makes about these sites, the facts, and the links that prove them. Anyone can check every link for themselves.

aiwebpageseo.shop: "Malware Distributor"

Gridinsoft says: "Malware Distributor", trust score 1/100, and "Gridinsoft blocks this website because it was classified as malware distributor." Gridinsoft: aiwebpageseo.shop

The facts: there is nothing on this site to distribute. I checked every file on my server on 27 October 2026. There are no executables, installers, archives or server scripts (.exe, .msi, .zip, .rar, .7z, .apk, .dmg, .bat, .scr or .php). The site contains only my own page, images, fonts, a cookie consent script and text files for AI crawlers.

On VirusTotal, 55 vendors report aiwebpageseo.shop clean, including URLhaus and VX Vault, which exist to track malware distribution sites. Gridinsoft's own verdict on VirusTotal for this domain is Unrated, not malicious. VirusTotal: aiwebpageseo.shop

ScamAdviser, which uses Gridinsoft's data feed, rates aiwebpageseo.shop 100 out of 100, "Very Likely Safe", from a fresh scan on 27 October 2026. ScamAdviser: aiwebpageseo.shop

Gridinsoft says: "The typical pattern is a file presented as a normal installer, update, crack, or document tool. After execution, payloads may steal saved credentials, inject browser scripts, deploy spyware, or drop ransomware components."

The facts: no installer, update, crack, document tool or file of any kind is offered on this site. This description has no connection to the site.

Gridinsoft says: "multiple malware or phishing blacklist detections (4)".

The facts: the four are Bfore.ai (a "PreCrime" prediction, not a detection), Chong Lua Dao, Webroot and alphaMountain.ai (rated "Suspicious", not malicious). 55 vendors on the same VirusTotal page report the site clean. Four minority verdicts out of 92, one of them a prediction and one only "suspicious", do not make a site a malware distributor. The Webroot rating is itself being challenged: see Webroot False Positives: Three Clean Sites Rated as Phishing.

Gridinsoft says: "Registration Form" and "Deals".

The facts: the page has no form of any kind and offers no deals.

aiwebpageseo.co.uk: "Suspicious Website"

Gridinsoft says: "Suspicious Website", trust score 31/100, "Listed by Gridinsoft. Gridinsoft Internet Security classified this site as unsafe." Gridinsoft: aiwebpageseo.co.uk

The facts, in Gridinsoft's own words on the same report: "The listed status means the domain currently appears in Gridinsoft's own Threat List; it is not a consensus of external providers. None of the 25 publicly displayed security sources report a warning."

After Gridinsoft's recheck on 27 October 2026, the only negative signals it lists are "limited independent reputation data" and "a relatively new domain (8 months)". Neither is evidence that a site is unsafe. There is no harmful finding behind this listing. The page has no forms, no iframes, no hidden code, no downloads and no link shorteners.

aipageseo.com: "Suspicious Website"

Gridinsoft says: "Suspicious Website", trust score 20/100, "a redirect to another domain (aiwebpageseo.com)". Gridinsoft: aipageseo.com

The facts: aipageseo.com is a domain I own. It sends visitors to my own main site, aiwebpageseo.com, with a single permanent 301 redirect: no chain, no third party and nothing hidden. Gridinsoft's own verdict for aiwebpageseo.com on VirusTotal is Clean, and 0 of 92 vendors flag it. VirusTotal: aiwebpageseo.com

Gridinsoft says: "Fake Social Media Links - Risk" and "unclear social-profile authenticity".

The facts: all of my sites carry the same social links. Gridinsoft's reports for aiwebpageseo.co.uk, aiwebpageseo.info, aiwebpageseo.store and aiwebpageseo.website treat those same links as neutral "Social Media Links". The same links cannot be fake on one domain and acceptable on another.

Gridinsoft says: "Shopping", "Realestate" and "content related to online shopping and ecommerce".

The facts: the site sells nothing and has nothing to do with property. It concerns SEO and audit tools.

aipageseo.co.uk: "Suspicious Website"

Gridinsoft says: "Suspicious Website", trust score 31/100, "Fake Social Media Links - Risk". Gridinsoft: aipageseo.co.uk

The facts: the social links are the same ones Gridinsoft treats as neutral on my other sites. The report itself shows 0 external provider warnings and says "None of the 25 publicly displayed security sources report a warning."

Gridinsoft contradicts itself

These sites are near-identical single-page sites built from the same main site (up to 97.6% the same once the domain names are ignored), on the same server, registered within a day of each other. Gridinsoft rates them like this:

The same pages cannot be generally safe on one domain and malware on another.

Hiding a report is not withdrawing it

Gridinsoft's page for my main site, aiwebpageseo.com, now shows "Security Report Removed". A notice placed over a report does not show whether the listing behind it has gone from Gridinsoft's Threat List, from its data feeds or from what its partners receive. A label that is hidden from the site owner but still sent to VirusTotal, ScamAdviser or Gridinsoft's own software does the same harm as one on public display. I have asked Gridinsoft to withdraw these listings at the source, not hide them.

Gridinsoft is happy to tell the world that my sites could be malicious, without a single piece of evidence. By the same standard, its listings could be malicious. I do not know whether this is negligence or something worse, but the effect on my business is the same: my sites have been publicly branded as malware and fraud without a shred of proof, and my reputation has been seriously damaged.

What I have asked Gridinsoft to do

I have emailed Gridinsoft at the address its own reports give for owners who wish to challenge a trust score, and asked it to:

  1. Remove aiwebpageseo.shop, aiwebpageseo.co.uk, aipageseo.com and aipageseo.co.uk from its Threat List, its data feeds and its security software, and withdraw the "Malware Distributor" and "Suspicious Website" labels.
  2. Correct the false statements in each report: the malware distribution description, the registration forms, the fake social links, and the shopping, real estate and deals categories.
  3. Tell its partners, including VirusTotal and ScamAdviser, that the listings have been withdrawn.
  4. Respond to my data protection requests under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR (Articles 15, 16, 19, 21 and 22), and give the names of its UK and EU representatives under Article 27.

Gridinsoft operates from Ukraine and Canada, but the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR apply to it under Article 3(2), because it offers its services and software to people in the UK and the EU and publishes these ratings to them.

Timeline

All times are taken from the email time stamp. I will update this post with Gridinsoft's reply.

If Gridinsoft has flagged your site

Gridinsoft's reports say owners can challenge a trust score through portal.gridinsoft.com or by emailing legal@gridinsoft.com, and that it never charges for a review. Before you write, check your site on VirusTotal and note how many vendors report it clean, then read the "Negative signals" on your Gridinsoft report. If the only negatives are a young domain and limited reputation data, there is no harmful finding behind the listing, and you should say so.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Gridinsoft call a clean website a malware distributor?

Gridinsoft's Website Reputation Checker uses automated checks and counts verdicts from other security vendors as external warnings. In this case it counted four minority verdicts out of 92 on VirusTotal, one of them only a prediction and one only rated suspicious, and labelled aiwebpageseo.shop a Malware Distributor with a trust score of 1 out of 100. The site has no downloads of any kind, 55 vendors report it clean, and Gridinsoft's own verdict for the domain on VirusTotal is Unrated.

What does "Listed by Gridinsoft" mean on a Gridinsoft report?

It means the domain is on Gridinsoft's own Threat List and that Gridinsoft Internet Security classifies it as unsafe. Gridinsoft's own report for aiwebpageseo.co.uk says the listed status is not a consensus of external providers and that none of the 25 publicly displayed security sources report a warning. The only negative signals left on that report are limited reputation data and a young domain, neither of which is evidence that a site is unsafe.

How do I challenge a Gridinsoft trust score?

Gridinsoft's reports say website owners can submit a review request through portal.gridinsoft.com, or email legal@gridinsoft.com with proof of legitimacy and contact details, and that Gridinsoft never charges for a review. Set out each statement in the report with the facts that answer it, link to your VirusTotal results, offer proof that you own the domain, and ask for the listing to be withdrawn from the Threat List and data feeds, not only hidden on the public report.

Does GDPR apply to Gridinsoft?

Gridinsoft operates from Ukraine and Canada, but Article 3(2) of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR applies to organisations outside the UK and EU that offer goods or services to people in the UK or EU. Gridinsoft offers its software and services to people in the UK and EU and publishes its ratings to them. Under Article 27 it must also have a representative in the UK and the EU, and a sole trader whose business is rated can use their data protection rights to ask what Gridinsoft holds.
