What the checker looks for

The checker analyses your schema against three criteria. First, Google rich result requirements — the exact properties that must be present for your page to be eligible for star ratings, FAQ dropdowns, opening hours, price ranges and other enhanced search features. Missing any required property means no rich result, regardless of how good the rest of your schema is.

Second, recommended properties — fields that are not strictly required but improve your score and how well Google understands your business. These include aggregateRating, image, description, openingHours, sameAs links and knowsAbout topics.

Third, AEO signals — structured data fields that AI search engines specifically use when deciding who to cite in response to queries. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot all read schema markup. Missing description, featureList and entity disambiguation fields reduces your chances of being cited.

How to read your results

Green (80+) means your schema is solid and you are eligible for rich results. Keep going — the enrich panel can push you closer to 100.

Orange (50-79) means there are significant gaps. You are probably eligible for basic rich results but missing recommended properties that improve how Google represents your business.

Red (below 50) means required properties are missing. You are not eligible for rich results and Google has a very incomplete picture of your business.

Grey items marked "worth including" are optional but improve entity authority. These are not scored but adding them strengthens your knowledge graph presence.

After checking — what next

If your score is below 80, use the AI Schema Generator to regenerate your schema from your page URL. The generator reads your live page and writes a complete schema block covering all required and recommended properties automatically.

Run the new schema through the checker again to see your improved score. The difference is usually 30-50 points for sites with no existing schema, and 10-20 points for sites with basic schema already in place.
