Note: this tool gives you strong, site-specific starting documents, but it isn't legal advice. If you process sensitive data, have a qualified person review before you publish.

Step by step

1

Scan your site

Enter your website URL. The Kit crawls it and detects every cookie and third-party tracker, sorting them into essential, functional, analytics and marketing.

2

Publish your privacy and cookie policies

Create two pages — /privacy-policy and /cookies — and paste in the generated content. Because it lists only the trackers actually on your site, it's more accurate than a generic template. Link both in your footer.

3

Deploy the consent banner

Paste the generated banner HTML as the first element inside your <body> tag, before any other scripts. It shows once for new visitors and remembers their choice.

4

Make tracking wait for consent

This is the part most sites get wrong. In Google Tag Manager, trigger your analytics and marketing tags on the banner's consent_accepted event so nothing non-essential fires until the visitor accepts. Test in a fresh browser with the Network tab open.

5

Keep your Article 30 record

Save the generated RoPA in your internal documentation. You don't publish it, but you must be able to produce it on request. Re-generate everything whenever you add or remove a third-party tool.

Done right: a new visitor sees the banner first, no analytics fires until they accept, your policies match your real trackers, and you hold a current RoPA. That's the compliant baseline.
